Hello you beautiful people,
I prefer to stick with positives reviews, but I feel like I need to give you a well rounded view of the products that I try, mostly to show that I too sometimes end up with products I just don’t like. I haven’t done a disappointing product post yet, so today is the day! I’m not going to beat around the bush, so let’s get started!
I normally love, and I mean love, Maybelline products. For the price they are fantastic and I think they are nearly as good as some high end brands (insert gasp here, I know!) I am especially fond of Maybelline mascaras, that is of course until I tried the Colossal Volume Express Mascara.
This particular formula is supposed to be voluminising, so I know that it isn’t going to do too much for length, but this was massively disappointing. Not only did I see much of a difference in volume, it seemed like my lashes got shorter when I applied this mascara, and lets be honest, no one wants that!
I also found this formula to be prone to clumping and generally did nothing for my lashes. What about you guys? Has anyone tried this mascara? What are your thoughts? As far as mascaras go, this is not one that I would recommend. I always recommend Maybelline mascara, but perhaps leave this one out of the basket the next time you are hunting for a new mascara.

Maybelline has been said to be the “King” of mascara since their ever-so-popular Lash Stiletto mascara came out but I’m gonna have to agree with you on this one. It was an all around beauty fail for me. It weighedmy lashes down so much and was so clumpy! 😦

Hey Rosalyn, I’m glad you stopped by 🙂 It was really heavy, you’re right! Not something I am looking for in a mascara. I’ve moved onto the Lash Sensational and that one is sooo much better!
I have never been a fan of maybelline mascaras in general, they always seem very messy. I found this particular one to really dry out quick and leave that horrible crunchy feeling to my lashes, and any volume that it made, was lost within the hour. I do love their foundations though.
I do normally like the Maybelline mascaras, but you are right, they are a bit messy! This one was such a let down though. They seem to have dropped the ball with this one 😦
I’ve been converted to Benefits Rollerlash recently and I expect to stick, were as I was always a max factor girl for mascara before. I still think max factor are the best “drug store brand” when it comes to mascara. You do get what you pay for!

I love this post! I like positive reviews as well but I actually love these kinds of reviews because not only are they helpful but they are real! Your not always going to love everything!

Agreed! This mascara sucks. It is so clumpy. The wand is awful. I went back to my Maybelline Lash Sensational.
