Review: Clearasil Ultra Rapid Action Scrub

Hello Chant-ilys!

As you guys know, my face hasn’t been agreeing with me and I have been struggling with some spots. I have been trying a lot of different solutions and this one I have loved so much I had to share it with you.

This is the Clearasil Ultra Rapid Action Scrub and it has very quickly become one of my savior products. It claims to give visibly clearer skin in just 12 hours. Now I wouldn’t say that it gives you clear skin in 12 hours, but it does reduce the redness and the skin looks less angry.

image4

I use this in the morning and evening to treat the spots. In the morning I pair this with the Clearasil Rapid Action Pads to really start the day with a clean and cleansed face. In the evenings I pair it with my Mario Badescu Drying Cream (which is also amazing!)

image1

This face scrub has little blue beads in it to exfoliate and really attack the spots and start clearing them away quickly. I also just love how fresh and clean it makes my skin feel after using it. It does have a fairly clinical smell, but I have grown to really like it as it just adds to feeling clean and fresh.

If you are struggling with some spots, I would recommend trying this product. You can find it in most supermarkets and it is only about £5.00.

Let me know what your favourite acne fighting product is in the comments below!

Until next time,

xx

Sunday Shopping

Hello lovelies!

Happy Monday! I did a little bit of weekend shopping yesterday and just had to share it with you! I originally went into TJ Maxx to get a new handbag as the one I always use it a bit big (this is the link for my What’s in my Handbag video, so check it out!) but as it always goes, I go into a store for one thing and come out with at least four completely unrelated items! Instead of grabbing a new handbag, I ended up in the cosmetics area, and you guys know that is particularly dangerous for me. Within minutes I had an arm full of things I wanted. Brushes, makeup, oils, cleansers, you name it and I had it in my hot little hands. But, then sad reality kicked in and I had to narrow down my choices to just a few and here is what I ended up with.

20170402_175816.jpg

20170402_175850.jpg

I really liked the look of these two items. These are the Ellen Tracy Blush and Highlighter and Colour Corrector pallets. The colours in the blush and highlight are so pretty and very pigmented! I have never actually tried colour correcting (I know, where have I been?!) but I thought this pallet was really sweet and it helps that it comes with a little guide of what each colour is for.

20170402_175916.jpg

I also really liked the look of these Ellen Tracy eye shadows because they are all matte and I LOVE matte shadows and it is surprisingly difficult to find all matte pallets. Let me know if you have any you love! I am not so sure how much I will like these because the swatch didn’t seem to be very pigmented, so I will have to try these out and see, but for just a couple of dollars, it’s worth a try! I also had to grab a new contour brush (which was the one I ended up with out of the six I had in my cart) because the brush I have been using is just too big for what I want to do, I am very excited to use that!

Now for all of you fashion lovers, I also found my way to the shoe area and ended up with two pairs. I am IN LOVE with them. I mean how cute are these?! Come on, tell me they are cute!

20170402_180742.jpg

I grabbed a pair of smart heels as well because you can never have enough work wear, and these are supposed to be very comfortable, so I will be putting these to the test. From what I could tell from trying them on and doing a lap around the isles, these are going to be fab to wear for a long day out on business!

20170402_180647.jpg

As always, there was so much more that I wanted to sneak up to the cash register with me, but I am happy with what I ended up with!

Did you guys do any weekend shopping of your own? Let me know what you bought!

Wishing you all a lovely week ahead!

xx

Beauty Without Cruelty: Brand Review

Hello everyone!

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend. It’s snowing where I am right now if you can believe it! What a better time to do a review post than sitting at home warm and snug away from the cold of the snow?!

The post: brand review. The subject: Beauty Without Cruelty.

image

I found this brand because, as you guys know, I love cruelty free, vegan products when I can find them, and this brand caught my eye. The whole ethos is based around cruelty free cosmetics, how cool is that?! I have tried out a few of their products (all vegan) and wanted to share them with you! Let’s get to it!

~~

Concealer: The first thing I tried was the cream concealer pencil. I have to admit, I wasn’t totally sold on the idea of this product, but when I tried it, it quickly became my favourite of the bunch. It’s really soft so it goes on easily, which is good for under eyes. I actually love using this product as a highlight, so it’s perfect to brighten under the eyes and give the cupids bow a lift. I’ve found that it’s light coverage, but using it as a brightener is perfect!

image

Foundation: As you know, I don’t wear foundation that often because I hate the feeling of having something all over my face. We may have found a solution. This foundation is a slightly more liquid-y formula in comparison to my other foundations, but I like it because it is so weightless. I don’t feel like I have something caked all over my face, in fact, I don’t feel it at all! It is light to medium coverage as well so its good for days that you want to just give a nice, subtle even skinned, natural look.

image

Powder: The translucent powder is also something I see myself using quite often now. You get a good amount of product and I like using this to set the foundation and concealer. Again, it doesn’t feel like I have anything on my face, so I am a fan! I also really like the packaging of this product, doesn’t it just look pure and natural?

image

Eyeliner: The soft kohl pencil is exactly as I’d expect, nice and soft so it’s really easy to apply. It isn’t waterproof, so it can smudge easily, so be aware of that, but I’ve been using it to just enhance the lash line and it looks nice. I have this in the colour Walnut so it is great for getting a really natural look. I’ve even used it to contour! No complaints from me here!

image

Mascara: The first thing I noticed about this was the applicator brush. It’s this cool kind of wave cut out, which just looks edgy! This mascara is quite soft and feels nice on the lashes. I often get eye infections and have to be extra careful about keeping my eyes clean. The fact that this mascara is vegan, and has natural ingredients makes me so much more comfortable using this product as opposed to another less natural product. It doesn’t offer a lot of curl, but when I give my lashes a good pre-curl it tends to hold up quite well and it defines the lashes, so it is great for a no-makeup makeup look.

image

Lips: BWC also have a range of lipsticks. This one is in the colour Pomegranate and it is a pretty bright pink. It is really pigmented and it has a nice finish on the lips. I would caution, that they are very pigmented, so the colour might end up being a bit different than you expect from the pictures on the website. I like that the main ingredients in this are natural oils (like jojoba and caster seed oil), so I feel better about wearing this lipstick knowing that it’s a natural product.

image

Hair: I also tried out the Rosemary, Mint and Tee Tree shampoo and conditioner. When I saw this scent on their website, I was so excited because mint anything is going to be a favourite of mine. I also really love tee tree since it has healing properties, and of course rosemary, mmmm, three of my favourite scents rolled into one! You guys, these products have such a strong smell. When I opened the box, I was immediately hit with the smell of rosemary. It was great. After using these two products, my hair felt so light and soft. I also just love of the feeling of a conditioner with mint because of the cooling effect on the scalp!

A big thank you to BWC for sending these products my way!

Overall, I am impressed with this brand. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I have enjoyed using these products. If you are looking for a cruelty free, vegan brand, this one is worth giving a try. Have any of you tried the Beauty Without Cruelty products? If you have, what did you think? Let me know if you have any suggestions of brands to try!

Until next time gang,

Review: NYX Highlight and Contour Pallet

Hello B-uties!

See what I did there?! B. Beauty… B – uties……?? Man, someone get me a mic because this comedy show is taking to the road! But first, let me tell you my thoughts on the NYX Highlight and Contour pallet.

img_0588

I bought this pallet about 2 weeks ago now (I think) for $25 and I have been using it almost everyday since.

I do really enjoy this pallet. There is a nice variety of shades and I have found them to be highly pigmented, however, they are a bit powdery, so make sure to tap that brush! I do really love the contour side of the pallet. The highlight is nice and I do find myself using it. I would never use it over, say, the Bar of Gold by Charlotte Tilbury (obviously) but it still gives a nice light and lift to the face.

image

I would say it is a nice pallet to have on hand as a good addition to your makeup collection. I am always a fan of having multiple products in one pallet because its like a one stop shop, there is a little bronzer, a little highlighter, and even a little concealer help with the banana shade. Yes, please!

Have you guys tried this pallet? If so, what do you think? What are some of your other favourite highlight and contour pallets?

Until next time gang,

xx

Review: Urban Decay 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner

Hello everyone!

How are you all on this lovely day? The sun in shining here for the first time in the week I have been here, so I am very excited about that!

I haven’t done a review in a while and they are some of my favourite posts to do since I get to just gush about a product, so today I am breaking the silence. Todays subject: Urban Decay 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner.

image

The verdict: try it!

You can find it on SALE here!

I normally tend to stay away from the liquid liners because they are a bit easier to mess up than a felt tip liner, but for some reason I felt compelled to give this liquid one a go. I actually really like it!

I found that it goes on very easily and I love the finish that it gives. You know how some liners dull as soon as they dry and then you feel like you have to put on another coat? Well, this one didn’t seem to do that! It stayed jet black even after it dried and to me, that’s a win. It is also waterproof, so on days that the allergies are playing up, or you get caught in a rain storm, this stays on, no black lines on this face!

Another thing that I love about this product is that it is by Urban Decay and a lot of the Urban Decay products these days are vegan. I just find that I feel so much better about using products/brands that are vegan and I am thrilled that UD advertise a fair few of their products as such. On top of that, the products are amazing, so I can’t ask for much else.

I love hearing from you guys so let me know if you guys have tried this product, as well as what you think about UD advertising vegan products (do you like it? do you care? etc!).

Talk to you next time,

Elf Cosmetics, Will You Be My Valentine?

Hello lovelies,

Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone! Although Valentine’s Day is typically about sharing your love with the people around you, I have decided to share my love with one of my favourite brands – elf cosmetics. Yes, I know, very untraditional! But hey, I love elf, so I’m just spreading the love 😉

Elf is one of those brands that I go to when a friend is wanting to try a new product or technique and they are newer to makeup. This is for a few reasons. One, the products are cheaper so they wont be put off by the price tag. Two, the products are actually really good for the price. And three, I personally like using the products right along side any other brand so I can give them some first hand advice.

I thought I would share some of that advice and a few of my favourite elf products that, yes I have had for a while, and love, but there are some really close matches online right now. Most of these ended up being eyeshadows, but there are a couple wild cards in here as well, so here we go!

Up first are these two absolutely gorgeous shadows. I love the colours of these two and they are in the shades Burnt Plum and Dusk. They have good pigmentation, but as I recommend with all elf shadows, they are better with a primer underneath. But come on you guys, look how pretty these are and for better than high street prices!

image

Next is another shadow and this is one of their Smudge Pots. This is in the shade Brownie Points. I am pretty sure I have talked about this one before but I am always pleasantly pleased when I come back to it. It is a gorgeous metallic gold and really pops on the eye. I normally pair this with a nice gold powder shadow to go over the top, just to set it a little better so it doesn’t crease, but again, better with a primer.

image

Another shadow for you! Now, I don’t think this is available anymore but we’ll truck on anyway. This one is one of elf’s Jumbo Eyeshadow Sticks. This is the shade Turkish Coffee. I use this shadow quite often when I am feeling lazy because it is so easy to just draw on and then buff in with a fluffy brush. I will say, if you don’t wear a primer, do not expect this to stay on your eyes. This one, even more so than the others, really needs a primer. I do love the colour and the ease though, so I am quite happy with this one.

Moving on from the shadows, we have the elf Hydrating Under Eye Primer. Now, as much as I do love elf, there are always products, as with any brand, that aren’t my favourite, and I have to say this is one of them. I am not a huge fan of this product because I don’t really see much of a difference when I have used it. Let me know if any of you love this product because I’d love to hear it! I am quite keen on the packaging though, I like the plain black for this particular product, quite sleek.

This one is a big favourite. This is the elf Total Face Pallet. It is just stunning. The packaging has taken this to the next level in my opinion. The colours are also really lovely on. I think they give a very natural, feminine look, which I am a big fan of. So this is a win to me.

image

The last product I want to mention is the stippling brush. I think it looks lovely and professional and you really cant beat the price!

image

So there we have it you guys, my Valentine’s Day love affair with elf. What are your thoughts on this brand? What are some of your favourite elf products? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time guys,

Micro Ulta Haul

Hello friends,

Today was a good day. Why? Because I got to get my shopping shoes on and get myself back into the beauty world of course! Although, it wasn’t in a big way because I only bought four items. But still, it’s a start! So let’s dive in. Here is what I got:

image1

NYX Contour and Highlight Pallet:

I have seen this on a few YouTube videos and I really liked the look of it so I wanted to give it a go for myself. I am pretty excited to use this (and review it for you) because of the different shade options. I think its going to be a good little contour/highlight go-to!

img_0588

Revlon Finishing Powder:

Long story short, I just needed a finishing powder and this was the only one I could find today, so this is what I ended up with. I haven’t seen any reviews or videos on this off the top of my head so I am hoping it is a good one, but I am excited to try it out and let you know! I am especially curious to see if the 16 hour stay claim is true or not!

dsc01999

John Frida Sea Salt Spray:

I have wanted some sea salt spray for a hot minute, so today I found this little bottle on sale and just went for it. I am going to go wild with some sexy, beachy waves, just you wait…. well, I’ll try anyway and trying is what counts!

dsc02010

Mario Badescu Face Spray:

I was on a mission to find a hydrating face spray and let me tell you, it was actually a lot harder than I thought it would be. Ulta has quite a lot of stuff but they were really lacking in the face spray department. I only found about four options and out of those I decided to go with this bad boy. It was small and inexpensive (only 5 dollars) so I thought it would be good to try it first to see if it actually works. I’ve used it once today and it seems quite nice actually so I think I will like using this one. Yay!

I have also made a little video over on my YouTube channel, so if you want to listen to me talk about my shopping trip today, here it is:

So, what do you think guys? That is my micro haul. Good? Have you guys tried any of these products? Let me know if you have and leave a comment below if you want to see any reviews for these.

Until next time guys,
