Elf Cosmetics, Will You Be My Valentine?

Hello lovelies,

Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone! Although Valentine’s Day is typically about sharing your love with the people around you, I have decided to share my love with one of my favourite brands – elf cosmetics. Yes, I know, very untraditional! But hey, I love elf, so I’m just spreading the love ūüėČ

Elf is one of those brands that I go to when a friend is wanting to try a new product or technique and they are newer to makeup. This is for a few reasons. One, the products are cheaper so they wont be put off by the price tag. Two, the products are actually really good for the price. And three, I personally like using the products right along side any other brand so I can give them some first hand advice.

I thought I would share some of that advice and a few of my favourite elf products that, yes I have had for a while, and love, but there are some really close matches online right now. Most of these ended up being eyeshadows, but there are a couple wild cards in here as well, so here we go!

Up first are these two absolutely gorgeous shadows. I love the colours of these two and they are in the shades Burnt Plum and Dusk. They have good pigmentation, but as I recommend with all elf shadows, they are better with a primer underneath. But come on you guys, look how pretty these are and for better than high street prices!

Next is another shadow and this is one of their Smudge Pots. This is in the shade Brownie Points. I am pretty sure I have talked about this one before but¬†I am always pleasantly pleased when I come back to it. It is a gorgeous metallic gold and really pops on the eye. I normally pair this with a nice gold powder shadow to go over the top, just to set it a little better so it doesn’t crease, but again, better with a primer.

Another shadow for you! Now, I don’t think this is available anymore but we’ll truck on anyway. This one is one of elf’s Jumbo Eyeshadow Sticks. This is the shade Turkish Coffee. I use this shadow quite often when I am feeling lazy because it is so easy to just draw on and then buff in with a fluffy brush. I will say, if you don’t wear a primer, do not expect this to stay on your eyes. This one, even more so than the others, really needs¬†a primer. I do love the colour and the ease though, so I am quite happy with this one.

Moving on from the shadows, we have the elf Hydrating Under Eye Primer. Now, as much as I do love elf, there are always products, as with any brand, that aren’t my favourite, and I have to say this is one of them. I am not a huge fan of this product because I don’t really see much of a difference when I have used it. Let me know if any of you love this product because I’d love to hear it! I am quite keen on the packaging though, I like the plain black for this particular product, quite sleek.

This one is a big favourite. This is the elf Total Face Pallet. It is just stunning. The packaging has taken this to the next level in my opinion. The colours are also really lovely on. I think they give a very natural, feminine look, which I am a big fan of. So this is a win to me.

The last product I want to mention is the stippling brush. I think it looks lovely and professional and you really cant beat the price!

So there we have it you guys, my Valentine’s Day love affair with elf. What are your thoughts on this brand? What are some of your favourite elf products? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time guys,

Review: PINK Conditioning Hair/Body Oil

Hey guys,

Today I am sharing the PINK hair/body oil because it deserves a bit of love, even if  it is an oldie. I have had this  product for  quite a while now but with a lot of  moving and chaos going on, it was put in a box and forgotten about for a while. I found it again a few weeks ago and omg  I still love it. The problem is, I cant find it anymore! What a complete travesty! Im so bummed. It looks like VS is selling a weightless hair oil, and that  might be worth a shot.

I love how versatile this product is. I can spritz this in  my hair after a shower to add some extra shine and I  can also spray it on any dry skin areas for an instant pick me up. I have to say that I actually like the smell, its  not too oily or too strong.

Let me know if you have tried this and have found a good dupe. I hope VS decide to bring something like this back soon!

Review: Balance Me Eye Cream

Hi everybody!

Today I thought I would share with you my current go-to eye cream. The Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream.

I was introduced to this brand back in March, last year¬†and I was able to¬† chat with a lovely¬† Balance Me rep.¬†and get a skin scan (I think that¬† is¬† what they are called. You know, the little machines that show you how your skin is¬† doing….?) Anyway, this showed that the skin under my eyes was a bit dehydrated and I decided to try this eye cream to sort it out. You guys,¬†I am so glad I did because it turns out that¬†I really like it.

The brand is a natural skincare line, which I am really drawn to because the more natural, the better, in¬† my opinion. I like how it feels on my skin, it feels hydrating but not sticky – I hate sticky!- and I like how it smells. I know this sounds ridiculous, but¬†when I smell this stuff it¬† makes me¬†¬†happy¬†(haha).¬†It is¬†a really fresh and¬† clean scent, who doesn’t like that?! I would definitely buy this¬† product again! My only issue is that it is a UK brand and¬† I don’t¬† believe you can buy it in the US yet, sorry to my US readers! Fingers crossed that changes soon so I can review some more of their products for you all!

You can buy it here!

Have any of  my UK readers tried the Balance Me products? If you have, let me know what you think! Also, let me know if there are any other products you think I should try out and review.

Until next time lovelies!

Review: Bliss Body Butter

Hello everybody!

I hope you are all having a fabulous day! I thought I would talk about the Bliss Lemon and Sage Body Butter today because, well, I think you should know about it.

I first tried the¬† Bliss Lemon and Sage Body Wash and fell in love with the¬† smell. It is really strong and whenever¬† I got¬† out of the shower the whole room would smell of citrusy delight. Since I loved the shower gel so much, I thought I’d give the body butter a try as well.

This stuff smells so good. It honestly is just so fresh and citrusy that I cant get enough of it. That being said – if you don’t like citrus scents, this is not for you because it is quite strong, but I love it! It is a pretty thick formula and I¬† do find it to be a bit heavy, but it’s hydrating and¬†it is great¬†to use on¬†your legs.

I would definitely recommend the Lemon and Sage scent from Bliss if you haven’t tried it, even just for the smell alone!

You can find it here!

Have any of you guys tried this scent? What other Bliss scents do you love? Let  me  know if the comments and I will go out and  try a few!

Review: Garnier Moisture Bomb

Hey hey it’s moisturiser review day!

Four words for you. Garnier Moisture Bomb Moisturiser. If you haven’t tried this yet, get yourself to the store and give it a shot. No need to say it but, guys,¬†I like this product!

I first tried this about three months ago and although I don’t use it everyday, I really do like it. I feel like it does exactly what it says on the bottle. It is so moisturising and it feels very luxurious on the skin (not greasy!). I love the feeling of washing my face and then slapping this on my face. You don’t¬†need a lot¬†so a little goes a¬† long way with this bottle. I¬†think it’s a¬† good night time moisturiser to prep¬†your skin through the night. I also like that they have included pomegranate, I think it just gives the illusion that its more natural, but I still like it! And did I mention it has SPF? That’s a must for my pale skin.

You can find it here!

Have any of you tried it? Let me know what you think and any other moisturisers you are  loving at the moment.

Review: Lancome Makeup Remover

Hello everybody!

I cannot wait to share this product with you so lets jump in. I am head over heals in love with this eye makeup remover. I was introduced to it a few months ago and I have not¬† looked back since. I have tried many eye makeup removers and have never been blown away. The best one that I had been able¬†to find was¬†the Neutrogena remover. Until now. Ladies and gents let me introduce you to my favourite remover! The Lanc√īme Bi-Facil Eye Makeup Remover.

This gets rid of so much more makeup with so¬†much less effort. It’s not¬† as oily as¬†other removers and the¬† bottle is huge so¬† it¬†lasts me a while (there are smaller sizes if you want).¬†¬†Yes, it is¬† more expensive than other removers, but you guys, it’s totally worth it! If you’re like me, and love layering on the mascara and liner, give this remover a try. You can find it here!

Let me know if you have tried this product and¬† what you think of it! What removers do you all love? I love hearing your guys’ feedback.

Until next time,

Review: NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint

Hello everybody!

I hope you all had a lovely weekend! On Saturday I headed over to Sephora and bought the new Velvet Matte Skin Tint in the colour Finland light 1. I promised in my video yesterday that I would do a  reivew, so here we go!

My first impression of this tint¬†was that a little goes a long way and¬†so far¬†that is pretty accurate. I wont be using this as an all over coverage, since it’s a tint, but today I put this all over my face and I like the finish. It goes on smoothly and evenly, but I think my favourite aspect of this it is so weightless!! I have had this on all day today and I don’t feel like I am even wearing makeup! Massive bonus!

This has medium coverage for me and since I normally don’t wear all-over makeup, this is perfect! I love that it has SPF 30 as well because I always need the sun protection! It’s also so easy to blend and it looks really natural. I mean can you see a line in the picture above?¬†I cant! This¬†has an instant air brush¬†effect, I mean, who doesn’t want that?!

(left- NARS : right- bare skin)

See how it does the job covering up my dark circles and redness? I’m very happy with that!

If this looks like something you might love, you can find it here!

The finished look using the Velvet Matte Skin Tint.

Overall, I am very pleased with this product so far and only have positive feedback for you guys. Have you tried this yet? If you have, let me know what you think.
